This ebook version was generated from William Sigmund's HTML version (see above) of David MacKay's Sustainable Energy without the hot air book.
Images have been converted down to less than 600x800 to fit within e-reader sized screens. Images are still in colour and the main text still refers to these colours, although current ebook readers have gray scale screens. However, usually it's clear from the text what is being referred to though "e.g. the red bar, on the left".
Sidebar images from the original book have been (or attempted to be) placed within the body of the text between the appropriate paragraphs. This has been carried out auto-magically, and then hand tweaked - so some no doubt will be poorly positioned, as and when I spot (/have time to spot) any problems I'll update the version here - or drop me a line if you spot any.
Each original page is prefixed with an html anchor tag and references to page numbers within the text are replaced with hyperlinks to these anchors - these look a little odd at first glance the text saying "on page ##", the next version will revert to including the real page numbers in these links for elegance and the ability to cross reference with the original book. As far as I can tell unfortunately these page numbers do not and cannot match the ebook page numbering which is dynamic based on which device you're using and how it flows the page. There doesn't seem to be anything in the epub standard (unless I've missed it) that lets you markup the electronic version with these real page numbers (although if you do know a way, let me know).
Attempts to maintain formatting of tables and equations have been made but some (especially in the reference sections) may be a bit muddled.
If you spot conversion problems, just let me know, preferably with details of the "real" page location and I'll fix them when I can.
